Combined Bachelor of Arts
Combinatorial degree programs: These programs combine either a bachelor's subject with a second major subject, or a bachelor's subject with two minor subjects.
You can choose (almost) all the subjects offered by the three philosophical faculties. In addition, second majors and minors can be chosen in business administration, economics, business information systems (only as a second major), and it may be possible to apply for a second major or minor in further subjects.

The program imparts basic competencies in French literature, culture and linguistics as well as in-depth communicative competencies in the French language. It enables students to deal with transformation processes of linguistic, cultural and literary phenomena in the French-speaking cultural area as well as to partake in guided scientific work.
Focus on French Linguistics and/or French Literary Studies and/or French Cultural Studies (on two of three sub-subjects), depending on the student's choice.
In the course of their studies, students acquire expert language skills in French.
In the bachelor's subject, various elective modules complement the course content and enable students to set their own personal focus.
Please note: Most courses are taught in German.
Professional profile: cultural management, library and publishing, journalism/media, museums, adult education as well as other extracurricular forms of foreign language teaching, public relations, tourism, work in internationally operating companies and international institutions.

We recommend all students develop specializations aiding their future careers by arranging suitable internships.
For French Philology as a major, two basic language practice modules must be completed in the first two years. Two out of three must be chosen from the subject areas of literary studies, linguistics, and cultural studies for the basic academic modules. In addition, individual credits (LP) from the third, non-chosen academic sub-subject should be obtained.
As a minor subject, one basic module in linguistic practice and one basic module in the subject sciences must be completed in the basic studies; additional credit points must be earned through freely chosen courses.
In the third year, the first major subject is continued with a language practice module and a subject-specific advanced module; the emphasis is set via elective credits.
The length of the program depends on the progress of an individual's studies. The standard period of study, the time in which the intended program can be finished ideally is 6 semesters. The actual time taken to complete the program may vary. It is limited by the examination deadlines set out in the examination regulations.
180 ECTS credits overall;

No, this program is does not have restricted admission based on grades.
Sound knowledge of French at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.

An application is not necessary, as the program is not admission restricted.
