Johann Weiß gained valuable practical experience during his bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Regensburg, particularly in property management and fund management. After working for several years in the areas of fund management and property valuation as well as in management consultancy, he completed a Master's degree in Real Estate Management (M.Sc.RE) with a focus on property investment and financing as well as property management and development at the International Real Estate Business School (IRE|BS).

During his Master's studies, Mr Weiß already supported the Competence Centre for Sustainability in the Real Estate Industry under the direction of Prof. Dr. Sven Bienert at the IRE|BS Institute for Real Estate Management at the University of Regensburg. From May 2021, his work focused in particular on sub-project 5 of the DFG research group 2733: ‘Sacred space transformation. Function and Use of Religious Places in Germany’ (TRANSARA) in cooperation with the University of Bonn.

Since June 2023, he has continued his work in the DFG research project TRANSARA as a research assistant and external doctoral student at the IRE|BS.
