Internationalization@Home

At UR, 'internationalization' does not necessarily or exclusively mean international mobility in the form of studying abroad or undertaking international research, teaching or work experience abroad:

It is important to us that internationalization can also be experienced and lived on campus itself. Thus, there is a variety of opportunities for all members of UR not only to study, research, teach and work in an international context at our university, but also to take advantage of recreational and cultural opportunities on campus.

Subjects offered at UR

Center for Language and Communication (ZSK)

UR’s Center for Language and Communication (ZSK) supports students in acquiring and improving foreign language skills in about 20 languages - from Arabic to Turkish. It offers complementary language courses for students of all faculties as well as specialized language courses for students of specific faculties.

(Non-Degree) Language Courses (in German)

The ZSK also prepares applicants and students from abroad for their studies in Regensburg and helps them improve their knowledge of German during their studies.

German as a Foreign Language

The ZSK’s two-semester seminar series 'Intercultural Rhetorical Competence (IRK)' is aimed at students who aspire to work internationally after their studies and who want to expand their rhetorical and intercultural skills for professional, social and political activities in an international context.

Bilingual campus orientation system

Make your research and work areas a little more internationally accessible simply and easily!

A bilingual campus-orientation system is to be established at UR in the medium term in order to make it easier for international students, scientists and guests of UR to find their way around the campus right from the start.
In this context, bilingual (German & English) signage of the university's rooms plays an integral part. Everyone is therefore invited to update their signage with the help of corporate design templates and a glossary, thus contributing to another pillar of UR’s internationality.
