Living in Regensburg

The University of Regensburg is a modern campus University situated at the southeast edge of the old historic town of Regensburg. The staff includes numerous visiting scientists and visiting professors from abroad who conduct research and teach at UR.

It is a modern research-oriented university founded in 1962 and includes 12 faculties with close to 200 study programmes at bachelor, master and PhD level.

The attractiveness of the university is enhanced by the appeal of the city itself, with its ever-present traces of more than 2,000 years of history. Since July 2006, Regensburg carries the UNESCO distinction "World Heritage", which recognizes the unique character of the medieval city centre and its magnificent architecture - above all the Old Stone Bridge above the Danube and St. Peter's Cathedral.
