Autosomal Dominant Tubulointerstitial Kidney Disease (ADTKD) is a group of genetic kidney diseases. The following website: https://www.adtkd.de was created to make research results available and to inform patients, relatives and physicians. Prof. Dr. Michael Wiesener, University Hospital Erlangen, PI of project C4, is one of the two scientific advisors of the project.
The Center for Rare Kidney Diseases of the University Hospital Erlangen (under the direction of the deputy spokesperson of the SFB 1350, Professor Dr. Mario Schiffer) is a contact point for adults and children with rare hereditary syndromal and non-syndromal kidney diseases. For further information, please visit the homepage (https://www.zsn.uk-erlangen.de).
The interactive app "INSIGHT KIDNEY" by ANIMA RES on kidney anatomy and kidney diseases was co-developed by Kerstin Amann (co-speaker of SFB 1350 and PI in project C2).
INSIGHT KIDNEY attempts for the first time to visualize rare kidney diseases with anatomically correct 3D representations to close the knowledge gap for patients and is also ideally suited for teaching and continuing education.
A free download is available for Android and for Apple devices.
