The University of Regensburg, along with numerous other German institutions, is dedicated to attracting international talent in order to enhance the international character of its campus. The UR's International Office has developed a range of programs to facilitate the integration of international students into the academic context and provide support at various stages of their academic journey.
To support students in the final stage of their studies and facilitate their success in the German labor market, we are participating in the "Campus-Initiative Internationale Fachkräfte," a program of the DAAD sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The primary objective is to implement measures that enhance the academic success and employability of international graduates.
iSTEPS' objective is to not only monitor the academic progress of international students, but also to increase their employability by providing them with the tools to succeed in the German labor market. The program offers individual coaching, expert lectures, workshops, German courses, networking opportunities with alumni, and direct contact with employers.

An important part of integration into the labor market is gaining experience and making contacts, which is why internships or part-time jobs are an excellent opportunity for international students. However, as more and more companies realise how enriching the diverse backgrounds of employees can be, and how valuable skilled workers are, we want to give them the chance to get to know the professionals of tomorrow while they are still studying at UR.
Companies cooperating with us benefit from the iSTEPS program, which featues courses on international competence and rhetorics, German classes specific for communication at the workplace and assistance regarding queries about immigration law, benefitting companies and international employees.
There are different partnership opportunities which we would like to promote, including but not limited to:
If you are interested in collaborating to get to know international students from different backgrounds and facilitating thr iSTEPS project, please do not hesitate.
