    Philip Empl received a master’s degree in management information systems from the University of Regensburg in 2020. Since 2020, he has been a Research Assistant pursuing a Ph.D. degree with the Chair of Information Systems, University of Regensburg, Germany. He is involved in the research project SISSeC funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), aiming to collect and analyze Internet of Things (IoT) data in cloud environments.

    In his research, he applies digital twins to enhance cybersecurity in IoT. These application scenarios range widely, e.g., to train employees, test security, or design systems securely. He mainly focuses on security analytics (e.g., detection of incidents) and security orchestration (e.g., response to incidents).
