Welcome to Biochemistry III!
Our research is focussed on understanding the fundamental biochemical processes that control life at the cellular and molecular level. Our research focuses on analysing the regulation of translation and chromatin, the structure and function of RNA molecules and RNA-protein complexes. We use state-of-the-art biochemical, molecular biological and structural methods, such as single molecule microscopy, optical tweezers, NGS methods for RNA and tranlatome analysis. We use a range of model organisms and purified systems from bacteria, yeasts to insects and human cells.
Through our research we aim to gain new insights that not only deepen the understanding of cell biology but also enable potential applications in medicine.
