Welcome to the Ziegler group - a unique team of dedicated, enthusiastic scientists trained in different disciplines, working together to unravel the manifold mysteries of membrane protein structural biology! We all share the passion for cutting-edge cryo-electron microscopy and collaborate on various strategies to further push the verge of the resolution limit for our challenging research projects. Our welcoming, vivid lab culture culminates in legendary barbecues and terrific christmas partys.

Post-doctoral and doctoral researchers:

Postdoc and PhD positions are available in our lab on a regular basis. As a member of the Regensburg International Graduate School of Life Sciences (RIGel), our PhD students profit from interdisciplinary exchange and joint summer schools. Similarly, many projects are embedded in diverse international research consortia, e.g. PATHSENSE or NeuroTrans. M.Sc. and B.Sc. thesis:

You are finishing your studies soon and looking for a group to perform your M.Sc. or B.Sc. thesis? You enjoy a collaborative, welcoming atmosphere and would like to work in an international team of committed, open-minded scientists? Founded on our broad expertise in membrane protein biology and on our experience in interdisciplinary research, we are able to offer a great variety of reserach projects for your thesis. Lab internships:

We are always happy to include motivated students into our daily lab routine, for short (3 weeks) or long (6 weeks) periods on experts or beginner level.
