Functional and Topographic Anatomy (Prof. Tamm)

  • general anatomy and histology
  • understanding macroscopic and functional aspects based on histological aspects
  • functional and topographic anatomy of the musculoskeletal system
  • anatomy and function of the human organ systems on a macroscopic and molecular level
  • correlation of clinical disease with anatomic principles
  • Presentation and discussion topic in the field of anatomy with clinical references

Neuroanatomy and Histology (Prof. Härteis)

  • neuroanatomy and histology of different tissues/organs with clinical aspects 
  • anatomy and function of the human organ systems on a macroscopic and molecular level
  • correlation of clinical disease with anatomic principles

1.Lecture:

2. Seminar:

In the seminar a seminar presentation has to be held and registered in Flexnow as an ungraded study achievement (Studienleistung).

30 min oral examination (graded)

Cell Biology (Prof. Dr. Ernst Tamm, Prof. Dr. Rudolf Fuchshofer)

  • Protein biochemstry: Western blot, Immunprecipitation, Protein isolation and purification
  • DNA/RNA: Real-time PCR, cloning
  • Cell culture: Proliferation assay, migration assay, establishing of primary cell lines, transfection
  • Presentation and discussion of own experimental data

3D-in-vivo-tumor model (Prof. Dr. Silke Härteis)

  • Cell culture of tumor cells, handling of tumor material from patients
  • 3D-in-vivo-model
  • Engrafting/transplantation of tumors
  • Testing of drugs/radiation therapy
  • Measurement of tumor volume/weight
  • Measurement of angiogenesis
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Presentation and discussion of own experimental data

  • Transgenic animal models: Glaucoma, retinal degeneration
  • Inducible stress models: Retinopathy of prematurity, retinal degeneration model
  • Analysis of animal models: Histology, expression and synthesis studies (real-time RT-PCR, western blot, immunhistological stainings); electron microscopy
  • Presentation and discussion of own experimentally gained data
