The Regensburg Institute of Political Science includes three chairs, two professorships, one associate professor, one teaching assistant as well as one private lecturer. Due to our research focus and the Institute’s size the whole spectrum of the scientific discipline can be covered, that is also why we can guarantee a comprehensive education in Political Science to all students. At the meantime it is possible to organize your studies individually and to specialize with regard to your very own interests.
The Institute’s staff attaches importance on an appropriate supervision of term papers and final theses as well as small in-class groups. Thus students can consult with their supervisors individually and the scientific staff is able to create an intensive atmosphere during class.
Furthermore, the Institute has close contacts to international organizations and foundations, to organizations in the field of political and social science, to politicians and political parties, as well as to economy representatives. Therefore, the Institute welcomes prestigious lecturers on a regular basis.
The University of Regensburg (UR), founded in 1962, is a modern campus university at the southern edge of the Old Town of Regensburg. Originally designed as a regional university, Universität Regensburg has developed into a renowned international centre of teaching and research over the last decades. Among its attractive features are a broad spectrum of disciplines, a favourable student-teacher ratio and excellent infrastructure. There are currently more then 21,000 students enrolled at Universität Regensburg.

Regensburg is a city with a medieval core in Eastern Bavaria. It is the capital of the administrative district Oberpfalz. At the present time it has roughly a population of 146 000. Both, the Old Town as well as the quarter ‘Stadtamhof’ have world cultural heritage status since 2006.
