The Faculty

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Regensburg was founded in 1984 with the opening of the first construction phase of the University Hospital (Clinic and Polyclinic for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine) and has been successively expanded since then. Full medical education for students has been possible since 1996.

In addition to the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital, a Faculty of Natural Sciences (preclinical training) and four other hospital institutions are involved in research and teaching.

Currently, about 1,850 students of human medicine and dentistry are enrolled. They regularly occupy top positions in the nationally comparable written state examinations.
