Olaf Kranz was Senior Lecturer at the Chair of Business Administration, especially Leadership and Organization from May 2011 to April 2020. He studied Sociology and Political Sciences at Martin-Luther-University of Halle (Germany) and at Edinburgh University (UK) and earned a PhD from Martin-Luther-University of Halle in 2008 with a thesis about the relationship between social interaction and management consultancy. Work at various former positions (Technical University Kaiserslautern, Martin-Luther-University Halle, Technical University Chemnitz) included empirical and theoretical research in social interaction, organization studies, and the professions, as well as teaching university courses at different levels in micro-sociology, the sociology of organizations and the professions, and management consulting.
Since May 2020 Dr. Kranz is primarily focusing on his EU-funded project STIMULART.
His current research interests include theories of organization with particular focus on the micro-foundations of everyday organizational life and on sensemaking processes during organizational change and crisis, participatory organizational forms, innovation processes in organizations as well as in the creative industries, and the sociology of professions and of management consulting.
