Kompetenzzentrum Fluoreszente Bioanalytik

The Kompetenzzentrum Fluoreszente Bioanalytik (KFB) is the Genomics Core Unit (GCU) of the University of Regensburg. The KFB supports state-of-the-art genomics services for the local research community, as well as for external partners and clients across Europe.

Our lab is equipped with the following platform technologies:

• Deep Sequencing (Illumina NextSeq 2000 system): a growing range of sequencing applications and protocols are supported, including mRNA-Seq, total RNA-Seq, gDNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, smallRNA-Seq.
• Affymetrix GeneChip Microarrays (Thermo Fisher): RNA expression profiling using single-cartridge arrays (GeneChip Scanner 3000).

 
In addition, we offer stand-alone access to the following instruments:          
 

• StepOne Plus Real-Time PCR System (Thermo Fisher)
• Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 (DNA / RNA QC)
• Covaris S2 AFA (highly-reproducible DNA fragmentation; recommended in many different sequencing library prep protocols)
• Precellys 24 Homogenisator (bead-based disruption/homogenization of a wide range of tissues)
• Nanodrop 1000 Spectrophotometer (DNA / RNA quantification)

Our experienced staff provides support along the full experimental workflow: e. g. project design/counseling, cost estimation/preparation of quotes, choice of kits and protocols, sample QC, sample preparation, data QC, and data analysis.

KFB is a member of the SFB960  and a cooperation partner of the Regensburger Centrum für Interventionelle Immunologie (RCI).
