Tiana studied Chemistry and Biochemistry at the LMU in Munich. After getting familiar with both, RNA biology in the group of Klaus Förstemann, as well as protein biochemistry in the group of Karl-Peter Hopfner, she combined both fields when joining the lab of Gunter Meister in Regensburg for her PhD.
Here, she is investigating proteins of the WD40 family and their potential function in RNA binding. She is also involved in optimizing the improved in vivo Bind-n-Seq protocol of the lab. This method helps us to unveil specific target motifs of many uncharacterized, direct but also indirect RNA binding proteins.
