Geboren im Jahre 1952, Dr. rer. pol. 1982, Habilitation 1987, Universität Tübingen, 1988-1992 Professor Universität Regensburg, 1992-1996 Professor Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), seit 1996 Ordinarius für Volkswirtschaftslehre (Finanzwissenschaft) an der Universität Regensburg, Forschungsprofessor am ifo-Institut München.

Forschung

Im Zentrum der Forschung von Prof. Buchholz stehen die Aufgaben, die dem öffentlichen Sektor in einer Marktwirtschaft zukommen. Besondere Bedeutung finden dabei die Umweltpolitik, die Verteilungs- und Sozialpolitik sowie die Steuerpolitik.

Beispiele für Forschungsthemen sind:
